Tea houses

POS for tea houses: every tea set and every table on record

In a çayxana a guest sits down with one pot of tea, plays nard for three hours, the tea set is refreshed twice, and in the end a friend pays. Dishment keeps track of every small item on these long checks.

Familiar problems

  • № 01

    Remembering who had what

A third tea set goes to the table, someone wants lemon, someone sweets. By evening the waiter is adding up the bill from memory.

  • № 02

    Lots of small checks

Small amounts all day long. On paper one goes missing, another is written down twice, and the till doesn’t match.

  • № 03

Tea, sugar and jam “just run out”

Nobody counts how many tea sets a pack of tea makes. Jam jars empty, and buying is guesswork.

One working day

09:00

The tea house opens. The samovar is on the boil, the cashier opens the shift, and the first guests take their newspapers out to the courtyard.

  1. 09:00: The tea house opens. The samovar is on the boil, the cashier opens the shift, and the first guests take their newspapers out to the courtyard.
  2. 11:30: Pensioners at the backgammon table. The waiter adds a second tea set on the tablet. The check stays open and nothing is lost.
  3. 15:00: The shade has moved, so guests head inside. The check follows them to the new table in one tap.
  4. 19:30: Football night, every table taken. The floor plan shows what is happening at each one: who asked for the bill, who is staying put.
  5. 22:00: Four friends split the bill: one pays his share by card, the rest in cash.
  6. 23:30: The day is closed. The owner sees in the report how many orders there were, what came in and which tables earned the most.

How it works with Dishment

  • Tables on a live plan

Which tables are seated and which have asked for the bill shows by colour. The backgammon tables in the courtyard are on the plan too.

  • Add to an open check

A fresh tea set, lemon or sweets go onto the same check. When the bill is asked for, it prints in one tap.

  • Move and split checks

If a guest changes tables, the check follows. Friends who want to pay separately can split it.

  • Tea and jam on record

With the Warehouse module each tea set deducts its tea, sugar and lemon by its tech card.

  • Works offline

Out of town or in the regions, a weak connection doesn’t stop the till.

  • Reports by table and waiter

The base reports show which tables bring in more and how many orders each waiter closed.

№ 06Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I set up a tea set on the menu?

The set is one menu item, and lemon, the kind of jam and sweets are modifiers. The waiter picks them in one tap.

  • Can a check stay open for hours?

Yes. A check stays open as long as you need, and each new order is added to it as a separate round.

  • What equipment do I need?

A Windows computer for the hub, Android phones or tablets for waiters and a thermal printer for checks.
